01 · THE PROBLEM

## Where they were stuck.

Existing travel planners are single-user. Group travel, where six friends coordinate flights, hotels, activities, and budget across continents, is mostly Slack threads, half-finished spreadsheets, and dropped balls. The team wanted to ship the first GenAI-powered collaborative travel planner, on web AND mobile, AND keep them in sync.

02 · OUR APPROACH

## How we built it.

-   01 Real-time collaborative state model: every member's contribution streams into a shared itinerary via WebSocket fan-out
-   02 GenAI planner agent grounded in actual flight + hotel + activity data, with budget, time, and accessibility constraints surfaced explicitly in prompts
-   03 Web (Next.js) + mobile (React Native) share a typed API contract; itinerary edits propagate to all surfaces within a second
-   04 Conflict resolution at the activity level: if two members propose conflicting times, the planner surfaces the trade-off rather than picking silently
-   05 Eval suite for the planner: 'does the itinerary actually fit the constraints?' measured per archetype before each model release
